Airfreight

It is best to use air freight when shipping costs are less than 15-20% of the value of the shipment. For light shipments, you can use a weight calculator to determine whether your shipment will be charged by actual weight or dimensional weight.

How we operate
202
① Willing Seller has a Willing Buyer (WSWB)

  • Our ‘Target 3PL Plan’ ™ is prepared and our online bots will be guided by the back-office team to source quotes from multiple suppliers
  • You choose amongst the top 2 options, and we proceed
  • We activate the blockchain quality control, customs clearance, freight insurance and shipping parties.
  • When the product arrives at the Buyer they will assess and sign off.
  • Then we start again.
② Willing Buyer Seller not yet known (WBSNK)

  • Tell us your requirement, preferably the specification range, and we tap into our SADC network of producers amongst junior miners and small mines.
  • TOSCM GLOBAL will then establish an assurance process, whether blockchain, trade assurance to ensure the Buyer and Seller find each other.
  • Then we go to a WSWB mode, or we start again.

③  Willing Seller Buyer not known (WSBNK)

  • TOSCM GLOBAL will develop a bespoke market infiltration plan for your product then identify at least 5 candidate buyers in a targeted region and 5 more in a support region,
  • TOSCM GLOBAL can set up or take meetings up to securing an LOI for your product.
  • Then we go to a WSWB mode, or we start again.

④  No Seller No Buyer (NSNB)

  • Using an array of artificial intelligence techniques, TOSCM GLOBALnever rests and is always conducting market studies of one type or the other.
  • It is also monitoring, 24/7 the demand for air, sea and road services.
  • In this opportunity identification we will identify an array of Sellers and an array of Buyers for a type of project.
  • Then we go to a WSWB mode, or we start again.

Green Shipping and Decarbonizing with TOSCM GLOBAL

TOSCM GLOBAL can look at the lowest energy routes to get your product from Seller to Buyer. This energy is measured in many ways but the most reported is a product’s ‘carbon footprint’. It is reported that 1 in 3 containers is shipped empty, from where it is not in demand to where it is in demand. There are empty trucks travelling in a return direction (‘empty backloads’). We reduce your product carbon footprint in a variety of ways by:

Green Bidding™

Green Bidding™

  • ask explicitly for backloads for roadfreight
  • look for empty containers to fill.
  • look for those ‘empty’ containers to fill.

Green Awareness

  • our quotes provide an estimate of CO2 footprint prominently displayed to help you decide ($/tCO2)
  • All costs being equal, we place before you the one with the lowest environmental impact.

Green Handling

  • Shipping has the lowest footprint so we will look at that ahead of road transport ahead of airfreight.
  • letting your goods be collected and delivered by transporters already moving past you, than to get a dedicated trip.
  • look for near full loads and try to avoid light loaded freighters

Green Routing

  • look for green ports and consider that in a cost-benefit analysis
  • In Europe, if we need to choose between barge and trucks… we will look at barges

CO2 Offsetting

  • invest in carbon offset projects to benefit our clients too.

Green Packaging

  • Simplify packaging to reduce the amount required.
  • Ask Buyers for their recycling plans with packaging
  • Notify buyers of a minimum of 5 recycling ideas for the packaging

Green Overheads

  • Office…what office? Unless where legally compelled, we do not run from an owned building. Shared spaces do not bother us because it keeps our own carbon footprint down. We meet online instead of a meeting room. We only participate in online training.

Green Disposal

  • Deliver as close to the Buyer with the lowest carbon footprint
  • Do a carbon footprint assessment of returns and disposal of goods to qualify a decision

Added Services

  • Carbon footprint calculator to do a primary check or a cross-verification
  • Tracking for client and reporting in twice daily (what we affectionately call ‘container stalking’)
